Public Welcome Free Event Program/Speaker Presentation

Join us for an evening with Aaron Hunt, an expert in moths.  Moths are often a forgotten important pollinator!  Aaron conducted research in Lori-Ann's backyard this past summer for his thesis.  It should be a very interesting and informative presentation.  Aaron is a masters student at the University of Delaware currently writing his thesis on how urbanization shapes moth community composition. He intends to pursue a PhD next, most likely working on moth systematics, and will publish his first species description this year. He is an editor at Moth Photographers Group, which hosts the authoritative list of described species of moths in North America, and curates the moth section of BugGuide.

"Most of us are used to getting our gardening into gear in the Spring, but the Fall is a perfect time to put many plants in the ground! For the vast majority of native plants, you can put them into the ground so long as the soil remains workable. Along with planting, there are so many valuable opportunites to promote a native plant garden, such as seed collection. Our presentation includes helpful tips for planting, preparing garden beds for the winter, and seed collection and sowing techniques. This is your opportunity to pick our brains for all of our Fall native plant knowledge!"

Everyone is always happy to share.

Something different for this year - we will have an appetizer potluck.  Bring your favorite appetizer to share.  We will have water, lemonade and tea.
